Ginger leaves her privileged life on the eastern plains, with a new baby, to start over in the rugged bush country. Life in the reclusive mountain settlement is challenging, but determined to fit in, she throws her energy into marrying the accidental father of her baby. Tristan Stone, a man keen to do what is right, goes bush to ‘think’. He takes along two teenagers, first they get lost, then become entangled with a prison breakout.
All is not going to plan. Ginger struggles on in the face of mounting disasters from the missing groom, a petulant neighbour, to her father’s unfortunate absence; even the weather conspires against her as a hurricane threatens the mountain valleys.
